The Olean Police Street Crimes Unit arrested nine people on drug charges during raids on three city apartments Thursday morning with assistance from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department's Special Response Team and a State Police K-9 unit.
Olean Police said they seized a total of about $16,000 in cash and about $10,000 worth of illegal street drugs, making it one of the department's biggest drug busts.

RICHMOND, Ky. - Construction crews have finished encasing the main weapons-destruction building at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond. The Courier-Journal, which toured the facility last week, reported the new three-story building is a milestone in the effort to destroy the 523 tons of chemical weapons stored at the depot.
Design work began on the $5.4 million project nine years ago, and construction is now more than half finished.

PASADENA - Local and federal authorities investigating welfare fraud arrested a local liquor store owner and two store clerks plus seized nine weapons and $298,716, police announced Wednesday.
