HEBRON - Hebron Academy Head of School John King has announced that the academy's math team clinched its sixth straight Class D Maine State Championship. This is the sixth consecutive year that Hebron has taken the title of small school state champions. The team finished third overall in the state meet in April. Danesh Tafti, professor of mechanical engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, has been named the William S. Cross Jr. Professor of Engineering by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors. Yue Wang, professor of electrical and computer engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, has been named the Grant A. Dove Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
Three New Yorkers ran a prostitution business in Fair Lawn and Saddle Brook that attracted customers with advertisements for relaxation and massages, police said Tuesday. Danny Yue, 39, Wei Xiaofen, 33, and Ji Wang, 37, were charged on Friday in connection with the "lucrative" business that operated out of a medical office building in Fair Lawn and another office building in Saddle Brook, Fair Lawn police Capt. Anthony Serrao and Sgt. Derek Bastinck said.
