The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from consulting engineering firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering services for all types of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) services on an as- needed basis. This will be a statewide term contract with multiple awards. The proposed one-year limited services Statewide term contract(s) with optional (2) one-year renewal terms will have a maximum of $4,500,000.00 per term and will be administered by VDOT's Operations and Security Division (OSD).

The General Services Administration has agreed to withdraw GSAR Case 2006-G507; Rewrite of General Services Acquisition Regulation (GSAR) Part 538, Federal Supply Schedule Contracting. Due to the variety of issues addressed in the GSAR Part 538 Rewrite, and strong stakeholder interest, the General Services Administration believes that an agency review of the current implementation plan for this GSAR case is appropriate.

Plaintiffs in a legal battle over the $1.5 billion State Center development have filed a motion to dismiss a countersuit filed last week by the state Department of Transportation and Department of General Services.
The countersuit seeks $100 million in fees, interest and damages against the plaintiffs, a group of downtown property owners who say the mega multi-use residential, commercial and redevelopment north of center city will render their leasing ability void.
