The Dubuque Area Labor-Management Council has named Royster- Clark Nitrogen to this year's "Labor-Management Honor Roll.' for their behavioral based safety program called Behavioral Risk Improvement (BRI) which reduced injuries at the plant.
Serving on the behavioral risk improvement maintenance core team for Royster-Clark and UAW Local 1391 were: Sandy Bush, Cal Cain, Pat Connolly, Mark Conter, Jim Delaney, Kevin Dougherty, Dennis Edmonds, Fred Kautman, Barry Keehner, Don Progar, Rob Montgomery, Wayne Neis, Randy Temperly and Lance Wilkinson.

Rentech, Inc. announced Wednesday, April 26, that it has completed the purchase of Royster-Clark Nitrogen, Inc., from Royster- Clark Inc.
The purchase cost, according to a press release from Rentech, was approximately $70 million. The assets include the 830-ton-per-day anomia fertilizer facility located east of East Dubuque along US 20, inventories of the plant and working capital.

EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. - East Dubuque's fertilizer plant, Royster- Clark Nitrogen Inc., is again in the process of being sold.
The buyer's planned conversion of the plant to a coal- gasification operation is expected to create more than 100 high- paying jobs and about 1,500 temporary construction jobs.

Denver-based Rentech Inc. announced Monday, Nov. 7, that Rentech Development Corp., its wholly owned subsidiary, and Royster-Clark Inc. have signed a definitive stock purchase agreement for the outstanding shares of common stock of Royster-Clark Nitrogen Inc. The sale price was $50 million.

It's been a few years now since the Jo Daviess County (Ill.) Board first learned of the proposed upgrade and enhancement project at what was then known as Royster-Clark Nitrogen, Inc., the chemical plant near East Dubuque.
Under its new owner, Rentech Energy Midwest, Inc., the proposed plant upgrade is on track in much the same manner as when they came to the county originally for assistance with inclusion in the Enterprise Zone.

Rentech, Inc. announced April 14, that it has closed the placement of $9 million in a preferred stock offering with M.A.G. Capital, LLC. The net proceeds of the transaction will be used by Rentech to advance the company's Fischer-Tropsch gas-to-liquids/ coal-to-liquids efforts involving the conversion of the Royster- Clark Nitrogen, Inc. ammonia facility, East Dubuque, from natural gas to coal.

Royster-Clark Nitrogen Inc. soon could sell its East Dubuque, Ill. plant to the technology company working to transform the fertilizer production facility into a clean-coal operation.
Earlier this month, Denver-based Rentech Inc. announced it had signed a letter of intent to purchase the stock of the plant.

Bill and Vicky Bahl, of 7005 Asbury Road, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Nov. 19 with a surprise party at Bittersweet on the Bluff, East Dubuque, Ill.
Bill Bahl and Vicky Ibinger, both of Dubuque, were married Nov. 22, 1975, at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, Dubuque. He is director of finance and energy at Royster-Clark Nitrogen Inc.
