Question: I am interested in the life of the Virgin Mary, before and after Christ's resurrection. I presume she stayed with St. Joseph. Did she have a family - a father, mother, any brothers? Where did they live - did they own or rent or have an income? Any additional children? Could you please recommend a book which might have some of the answers? Answer: This question was sent to me in the U.S. mail and the author even sent a postage-paid envelope for a reply. I am glad to reply both in post and in print. But it is hard to give very accurate answers. There is perhaps no more debated figure among Christians, other than Jesus himself, than the person of the Virgin Mary, Jesus' mother.
