There are a few things that most people being foreclosed upon don't know about the program (Maryland Gazette, June 15). When you are having problems making your payments, and decide to go to your bank and get your loan renewed in order to get lower interest payments, or you contact your bank to get "relief" from them under the program, you are put on what the banks call the "risk list. After you are put on that list, you are automatically doomed as far as getting a loan or lower payments on your home, from anybody.
Title X of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act) transferred rulemaking authority for a number of consumer financial protection laws from seven Federal agencies to the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau) as of July 21, 2011.
