Rehabilitation counselor education (RCE) students from one RCE program in the Southeastern region of the United States were surveyed in 1993 and 2003 to determine their career goals and if career goals changed a decade later. Other goals were to assess influencing factors for entering rehabilitation counseling or rehabilitation related professions and for selecting this RCE program. This is a partial replication study of Emener, Tannenbaum, and Cady (1990) and Dixon, Emener, Kelley, and Wright (1999). Implications for marketing the rehabilitation counseling profession and RCE programs were provided including offering curricula that supports specialization, specialty certifications, and counselor licensure.

Ernest Beitel Jr. Ernest "Lee" Beitel Jr., 72, of Mount Vernon, Wash., died Dec. 3 at his home. Mr. Beitel was born in Yakima. He worked as a rehabilitation counselor in Skagit County.

Medical Advanced Vocational Solutions Inc. has named Becky Gellerson as a principal and shareholder for the company. Gellerson joined the company in 2006 as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. She is a certified rehabilitation counselor and certified disability management specialist, and also has a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling.
Highland resident Tom Hagman wears several hats in the community. A parapsychologist, ordained minister and a rehabilitation counselor, Hagman has served as a source of inspiration for many in the Inland Empire. Hagman is a part of the Parapsychology Association in Riverside, established in 1971, connecting people with relatives who have died. It is especially important for a disabled person to learn whatever, wherever, whenever, and however he/she can. The more we know the more avenues we can explore, and the more opportunities we have to assess different work options. With education, even if we cannot do the work but know how to do it, we can instruct others how to do it, providing oversight to ensure the task is done correctly.
