Inverness Medical Innovations Inc and Matritech Inc have entered into an agreement for Inverness to acquire substantially all the assets of Matritech for $36 million, payable in shares of Inverness common stock. Matritech makes protein-based diagnostic products used to test for cancer. Inverness Medical makes private label and branded consumer and professional medical diagnostic products and equipment. Inverness Medical has been expanding its range of diagnostic products through acquisitions. Other recent acquisitions include HemoSense, Biosite, Cholestech Corp, and Quality Assured Services Inc.
In this final rule, OSHA is modifying its Standard (HCS) to conform to the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
