PORTLAND, Maine -- Republican U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins announced Tuesday a combined $1.13 million in federal grant awards to state and Portland law enforcement agencies.
According to a joint announcement by the senators, the Maine Department of Public Safety will receive $1.02 million from the U.S. Department of Justice's Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program to help "strengthen Maine's efforts to combat illicit drugs.
