GREENVILLE - The planned 99-year lease by the town of the Shaw Public Library Association's Fowle House - the library annex - hit a snag Wednesday.
Unresolved issues relating to the outstanding 2010 taxes on the building and insurance prompted selectmen to table signing the lease. Under the lease, the town would pay $1 for 99 years to rent the building.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development agency has approved $36,600 for the Eastport Public Library Association and $49,000 for the Shaw Public Library Association in Greenville, 2nd District U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud announced.
The Eastport funding will be used to repair a library and construct an outside reading area, while the Greenville funding will be used to purchase property to serve as an annex to the main library.

REDLANDS - A museum collection "show and share" is coming to the city.
Featured experts in the Redlands Historical Museum Association's fall program will be Larry E. Burgess, director of the A.K. Smiley Public Library; Don McCue, archivist for the Lincoln Memorial Shrine and head of special collections for Smiley Library's Heritage Room; and Nathan Gonzales, Heritage Room associate archivist and museum liaison.

SANGERVILLE - The independent Sangerville Public Library Association has ended any further discussion about merging the library with the town.
In November, the association made some inquiries of Town Manager Michelle Dumoulin to determine whether it would be feasible for the library to join under the town's umbrella. A proposed set of bylaws was drafted by the association to reflect such an arrangement.
