Shelby County Mayor-elect Mark Luttrell on Monday announced 10 appointments in Shelby County government, effective Sept. 1 when he leaves his current job as Shelby County sheriff to be sworn in as mayor. The city's deputy chief administrative officer, Kelly Rayne, will leave City Hall to become Shelby County attorney in Luttrell's administration at an annual salary of $135,000. The public defender's office will be taken over by Stephen Bush (salary $125,000). Bush now is a supervising attorney in the public defender's office.

The Fayette County Salary Board on Wednesday denied a request from longtime Public Defender Jeffrey Whiteko to increase his salary. Whiteko had asked that his salary of $62,595 be boosted by $9,750, for an annual compensation of $72,345.

BLOOMINGTON - McLean County Public Defender Amy Davis could be getting a $44,846 salary increase and yet save the county money.
