MILFORD -- Seventh-graders at East Shore Middle School who usually get their criminal and law enforcement information from television shows such as "Law & Order" and "C.S.I." were riveted Monday by the stories of real-life players: a judge, a police officer and his canine partner, an investigator, probation officers, prosecutor, public defender and even a former drug addict. The professionals are part of the Choices program, started on a whim seven years ago by probation official George J. Zamary, and a teacher friend who were talking about children and choices as their own kids played softball.
Since those early days, the program has been tweaked and polished and presented over and over in Stratford and Bridgeport middle and high schools.
