Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak has accused the president of a troubled insurance company of siphoning millions of dollars from the insurer's coffers and concealing its insolvency through a series of secretive financial transactions, according to a lawsuit filed in Oklahoma County District Court.
The lawsuit accuses the board of directors of Pegasus Insurance Company Inc. and company President Wayne Stark of being responsible for the insurer's eventual failure. Doak is also seeking the return of more than $8.1 million he claims was illegally funneled away from Pegasus to various other companies controlled by Stark, according to a lawsuit filed March 3.
