Setting standards for emergency services
Putting the patient first" is at the heart of every emergency medical technician and paramedic in taking care of their families, friends and neighbors should the need arise. Putting the patient first is also what S-818 and A-2095, the EMS Redesign Bill, is all about. The measure would hold New Jersey's emergency medical services community -- career and volunteer -- to some of the highest standards of professional excellence in the nation. It would make for a more efficient and effective EMS system with a universal standard, all leading to better outcomes for those we serve.

At some fundamental level, people who suffer a major loss end up living their lives in one of two ways - as a victor, or as a victim. Wallene Leek chose the former, with a big boost from a latestarting but lifelong career - as a life insurance and financial services professional. Leek has friends who are at or nearing retirement, while she's still gaining altitude with no thought of retirement after only seven and a half years as an agent for New York Life (NYL). Leek earned the new agent of the year honors for the Nashville office in 2002 and has captured many company honors since then, along with qualifying for the Million Dollar Round Table five times. She also has two professional designations, the Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and Long-Term Care Professional (...
