To make it as innkeepers today, owners have to constantly adapt to consumer demands and the markets they serve, said Jay Karen, chief executive officer of the New Jersey-based Professional Association of Innkeepers International. Typical requirements include high-speed or wireless Internet access and the ability for guests to make real-time reservations over the Internet, Karen said.
