She received the award for outstanding student in science and mathematics by the Savannah River Section of the American Nuclear Society in 1995. She was a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators. Donna taught Physics and Chemistry for 10 years at A. R. Johnson Health, Science and Engineering Magnet School in Augusta, GA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta. Donna enjoyed aerobics, gardening, swimming and bicycling.

ATLANTA - Parents of Georgia students with disabilities will now be able to use state tax money to send their children to private school using a measure signed into law Friday by Gov. Sonny Perdue.
