- Iamgold Corp. To Purchase Cambior Inc. For 3.23 Times Revenue
Iamgold Corp has agreed to acquire Cambior Inc for about $1.2 billion in stock. Under the terms of the deal, shareholders of Cambior will receive 0.42 shares of Iamgold in exchange for each share of Cambior. Cambior Inc operates five gold mines. The company has operations in Canada, Guyana, and Suriname. Iamgold Corporation owns stakes in Mali's Yatela and Sadiola gold mines and has exploration projects in other parts of Africa and in South America. The deal will create a combined company with 1.1 million ounces of annual gold production and reserves of 9.7 million ounces. The merged company will be one of the world's ten largest gold mine operators.

EPA is proposing to make certain revisions to the 1988 underground storage tank (UST) technical, financial responsibility, and state program approval regulations. These changes establish federal requirements that are similar to key portions of the Energy Policy Act of 2005; they also update certain 1988 UST regulations. Proposed changes include: Adding secondary containment requirements for new and replaced tanks and piping; adding operator training requirements; adding periodic operation and maintenance requirements for UST systems; removing certain deferrals; adding new release prevention and detection technologies; updating codes of practice; making editorial and technical corrections; and updating state program approval requirements to incorporate these new changes.
