The Securities and Exchange Commission is amending rule 206(3)-3T under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, a temporary rule that establishes an alternative means for investment advisers who are registered with the Commission as broker-dealers to meet the requirements of section 206(3) of the Investment Advisers Act when they act in a principal capacity in transactions with certain of their advisory clients. The amendment extends the date on which rule 206(3)- 3T will sunset from December 31, 2012 to December 31, 2014.

The First-Time Homebuyer Credit (now expanded beyond first-time buyers) expired on Apr 30, 2010. Congress chose to extend the credit along with making other changes under the 2009 Worker, Home Ownership and Business Assistance Act (WHOBA), signed into law on Nov 6, 2009. BANGOR -- A series of letters sent to the Department of Education reveals that some teachers and staff at Orono Middle School in 2011 felt pressured by their "often intense and intimidating" principal to have special education students revisit and alter standardized tests after they had been handed in and boxed up.
Robert Lucy, the former principal who now serves as assistant superintendent of the Bangor school system, denied having ever told teachers to knowingly violate testing rules.
