I've noticed a few stores around town lately running very good sales on whole rib roasts and strip loin roasts. You always will get a better price per pound if you purchase a large cut of meat, and a big standing rib roast or strip loin roast is a beautiful thing. But unless you have 10 people over for dinner, there will be plenty of leftovers.
Using some in stews and stir-fries is a good idea, and you always can freeze some (wrapped very, very well), but if you have a lot of good, mid-rare or rare meat, carve off a few more steaks to enjoy first.

When the executives at Baltimore's Penza Bailey Architects looked at the company's budget for the year ahead, they realized that the firm was going to come up short.
With the recession in full force, and the need for architectural services down, matching the pace of construction, the company had some tough choices to make -- mainly that expenses needed trimming.

With over 350 million records containing sensitive personal information having been compromised since 2005, it is evident that data breaches are an epidemic problem. After demonstrating the security breach problem, the Note begins by discussing California's pioneering data breach notification law, which requires breached entities to notify those affected that their personal information has been compromised. Drawing on various provisions found in California's notification law, the Note evaluates current state and federal data breach laws. To further explore the relationship between federal and state enforcement, two recent data breaches, the ChoicePoint and TJX breaches, are discussed in-depth. The Note then examines proposed federal and state legislation to strengthen the argument that ...

Shoppers should brace for higher grocery bills, especially on basics such as milk and ground beef, as food prices are expected to rise this year.
Food inflation is expected to accelerate this year to as much as 3 percent after two years of more moderate or declining prices, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Some economists are warning of even higher inflation given the volatile food market. That could add more than $20 to the average monthly food bill for a family of four.
