ORANGE -- Negotiations between town and Hubbell Inc. officials are expected to heat up as they head to court March 28 for a pretrial conference, which should lead to "face-to-face" talks, the town attorney said.

BRANFORD -- Michael Chaves, the Arizona man charged in the April 17, 2009, bludgeoning death of Dale Lynn Anderson at the TA Travel Center in Branford, has a new date in Superior Court of Sept. 29, the prosecutor said after a pretrial conference Wednesday. A plea of not guilty was entered for Chaves, 39, of Phoenix, after he waived a probable cause hearing July 13, said Senior Assistant State's Attorney Eugene R. Calistro Jr.
The pretrial conference took place in the chambers of Superior Court Judge Roland Fasano.
