A St. Louis man was sentenced today for defrauding roughly $510,000 from a religious and charitable organization.
The U.S. Attorney's office in St. Louis announced that Paul Steven Murphy was sentenced to 46 months in prison for a scheme involving the School Sisters of Notre Dame. According to a press release, Murphy - whose job involved installing and ordering computer software - submitted invoices to the organization from a separate company he established. Services emanating from those invoices were never actually rendered, according to the release.
