Some people believe that Mitt Romney is unfit to be president because the health reform he instituted as Massachusetts governor included an individual mandate.
I believe Romney is unfit to be president because he used a PowerPoint presentation to defend it. America does not need a PowerPoint president.

Q: I have a question about PowerPoint Viewer 2007. I get a lot of mail that has attached PowerPoint Slideshow files but cannot view them. I use Microsoft Media Player as my default player, but apparently it does not support PPS files. Is there another media player that supports multiple file types that I can install as my default player?
A: Let's start out with one clarification. Windows Media Player is intended to play videos or music, not PowerPoint shows. From what I can tell, no media player will play PPS files, although if you still want to try another media player, I'd recommend VLC since it plays almost all video and music file types. You can download it at www.vlcplayerdownload.org.

People hate all sorts of software because it's hard to use, under-featured, or just plain irritating. But they hate PowerPoint for deeper reasons -- for what it does to meetings, for what it does to social interaction, for what it does to how people think. In the author limited experience, the introduction of PowerPoint improved the logic of business presentations. Before PowerPoint, business managers would stand up in the front of the room and give rambling presentations that lacked coherence but demanded the attention. After PowerPoint, those presentations had more structure and more focus. That's because PowerPoint requires you to break your ideas down into a series of points, one after another. PowerPoint forced business presenters to become more analytic.

Use topic headers at the top of your slides, use thematic clipart for each subject area, use full screen titles to announce major presentation transitions, and include a conclusions slide (what was covered). If using Web sites and Web technologies as an alternative to a slide show in your presentations, a range of products can be used - Palm emulators, flash animation, streaming video, avatars, and others - anything that can be loaded on your hard drive rather than pulled down live from the Web. By pasting screen captures - carefully cropped and sized - from Web sites into the PowerPoint program, you can make a point about a Web page much more strongly, more reliably, and much more easily than by trying to navigate online.

According to Pennsylvania State University engineering communication professor Michael Alley, it was common for universities and research institutions to proudly advertise that they had the only slate writing board in a 100-mile radius. When describing the context or methods of your research, photos and movies are ideal pieces of evidence; when presenting your results, elements like graphs, tables, or charts (appropriately highlighted to emphasize key points) will do the trick.

[Steve Adubato]: The cost is astronomical. Dave Paradi recently told the Wall Street Journal, "Bad PowerPoint presentations cost companies $252 million a day in wasted time." Paradi added that this was a conservative estimate. Losing money is only one negative to bad PowerPoint. How about losing people's attention and the opportunity to motivate and inspire them? What about the fact that a bad PowerPoint lowers people's expectations as to what public communication should and could be.
The purpose of the meeting was to have an academic researcher come in and make an "expert presentation" on the results of a study to determine why downtown business development had stalled and what needed to be done to move forward. Yet, when the academic presenter walked to the front of the room he immed...
