• Riders Up: Kentucky Derby Charges in Saturday On Nbc

If you've ever seen the inside of an OTB parlor, you know the first Saturday in May is special because it's Kentucky Derby day. (Of course, if it's good weather on the first Saturday in May, you know the inside of an OTB parlor is the last place you should be spending time. So bet ahead, perhaps.) The Run for the Roses will be shown on NBC not long after 6 p.m. Saturday, with coverage beginning at 4. The presumed favorite, Eskendereya, will not race, but Jackson Bend finished second to him twice. Ice Box (which I like because the name reminds me of food) has the breeding, and Dublin should be in the hunt for green. Lookin at Lucky could be the favorite, however.
