PICO RIVERA - A grassroots community group has filed a lawsuit against the city for allowing the Wal-Mart store in the Pico Rivera Towne Center to become a Supercenter that sells groceries. Citizens for Political Responsibility in Pico Rivera is suing over the Redevelopment Agency's initial handling of the project's plans. It claims the Supercenter, under construction on Washington Boulevard, will cause the closure of smaller grocery stores, among other casualties, said attorney John McClendon of Laguna Hills, who is representing the group.
