By summer 2007, children in Detroit's quad-country area ages 1-12 will have easy access to dental care thanks to Children's lboth Fairy Foundation. We'll be looking for children who've been suffering in silence so we can fix them up and send them home with a healthy, happy smile. But there's more. You can't maintain proper dental care without education. Children's Tooth Fairy Foundation will write the checks, but parents have to do their part. The price of admission is simple. You bring your kid to get proper dental care, and while you wait, you get to experience a friendly, interactive, educational seminar that will teach adults the link between proper nutrition, proper dental hygiene, and the medical link to our mouths.
It's a tall order. And it's daunting. We need a lot of help, and ...

Myths are all-important, as [BARACK OBAMA] writes in his Dreams from My Father. Fifty years ago, the mythic Obama existed only as an aspiration, an ideal, in a country where interracial love was taboo and interracial marriage was largely banned. In 1960, in my liberal community of Ann Arbor, Mich., our student newspaper exposed the University of Michigan's dean of women for secretly spying on white coeds seen having coffee with black men in the campus Union and notifying their parents. In those days, too, the vision of an African American as president was preserved only in a dream state. As Obama himself declared on the night of the Iowa primary, "Some said this night would never come.

In this Article I examine “medical tourism”—the travel of patients who are residents of one country to another country for medical treatment—which is fast becoming a multi-billion dollar industry. To date, the primary U.S. medical tourists appear to have been uninsured or underinsured Americans seeking substantial cost savings by traveling to less developed countries for care. More recently, state governments, self-insured firms, Fortune 500 companies, and domestic insurers have begun attempts to get their insured populations to use medical tourism as well by requiring it or giving incentives for its use (what I call “insurer-prompted medical tourism”).
There is, however, a dark side to the growth of this industry. In this Article I set out...
