Photographs state Senate Majority Leader Truman Chafin submitted to the Public Service Commission purporting to show Appalachian Power's failure to maintain rights of way in Southern West Virginia were actually shots of telephone and cable television wires, a power company executive said Tuesday.
Philip Wright, Appalachian Power's vice president of distribution operations, said 12 of the 13 photos that Chafin, D-Mingo, filed with the PSC included no power lines. The remaining photo shows a transmission line, but it's not tangled with tree branches.
