John Philip "Phil" Norman, 92, professor emeritus of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at University Hospital. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 4, at the Sacred Heart Activity Building.
ORRVILLE -- A theft of company property was reported at 2:28 p.m. May 19 at 401 Collins Ave. in the city's industrial park. Company officials told an employee possessed at his residence air compressors, a torque wrench, air tanks and other items owned by the company. The value of the items was not immediately known. A 27-year-old Wooster man was arrested at 4:58 p.m. May 21 at a business in the 1000 block of West High Streete. The man was spotted going from car to car in the parking lot, looking in windows and possibly trying doors to see if they were locked. Arrested was Philip Norman, 27, of 4400 Melrose Drive. Arresting officers found opium, drug paraphernalia, pain pills and drug abuse instruments in Norman's possession. He was transported to the Wayne County jail.
