The testimony of American student Amanda Knox, appealing her conviction for murder, clashed in an Italian court on Monday with one of the two men found guilty with her of killing her British flatmate. Knox, 23, and her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito have been sentenced to 26 and 25 years in jail respectively for the murder of Meredith Kercher, another student who was found half- naked with her throat slit in the flat she shared with Knox in the university city of Perugia.

Torgiano is a lovely central Umbrian village of 2,000 people -- about a 10-minute drive southeast of Perugia, Italy. The town, set among rolling, breathtakingly beautiful hills, rises where the Chiascio River meets the Tiber River. Torgiano also is home to the Lungarotti wine empire, created by the late Giorgio Lungarotti and carried on by the next generation of innovators, his daughter, Chiara Lungarotti, and stepdaughter Teresa Severini. PERUGIA, Italy - She grins and chats. On Valentine's Day, she sported a T-shirt that read "All You Need Is Love." And one of the first things she said in court was about a rabbit-shaped sex toy. Amanda Knox faces life in prison if convicted of killing Meredith Kercher, a British exchange student who was her roommate in this picturesque university town. However, her breezy behavior in hearings over the last three months has set tongues wagging in Italy and abroad.

Case brings cheers, tears from Seattle SEATTLE -- In a tearful end to a tense vigil that had gone throughout the night, friends and supporters of Amanda Knox erupted in cheers and raised fists Monday as the jury decision acquitting her of murder in Italy was read. "I'm not surprised, but I'm hugely relieved, because anything could have happened," said John Lange, Knox's drama teacher at Seattle Preparatory School, where she attended before going to Italy as a college student. "We knew there was no way she could have done this," he said. "She was sweet. She never did anything to harm anybody else. She was not conniving. She was not mean-spirited." His voice breaking, he pulled off his glasses and wiped back tears. Exhausted but jubilant, about a dozen of nearly 30 supporters who had fill...
