The names and Social Security numbers of about 10 percent of all Connecticut taxpayers were contained on a laptop computer stolen Aug. 17 from a state employee's car on Long Island, state officials said Tuesday.
Officials said they have launched an internal investigation to determine how and why the unprecedented loss of information on about 106,000 taxpayers occurred.
