WHAT your body language says is often more important than what you say verbally, especially when the two conflict. When they're in sync, your movements are a reflection of what you're thinking and what you're feeling. But when they aren't, the unconscious prevails.
Why? Because while people will make themselves conscious of their words, few are conscious of their feelings and how that translates into body language, much less what that body language is saying. And in an interview, that can result in sending a message opposite what you intend.

The Mars Volta combined [Cedric Bixler-Zavala] and [Omar Rodriguez-Lopez] with band mates from their previous side project De Facto and began touring in 2001. In the summer of 2003, the band released their first LP De-Loused in the Comatorium, which received rave reviews from critics as eclectic as the band's sound. The songs on the album feature the unique lyricism only Cedric and company can provide, with eerie non-sequiturs and odd, evocative imagery. The album is conceptual; when a close friend of the band, artist Julio Venegas committed suicide in 1996, Bixler was profoundly affected. He wrote a song in response to the loss with At The Drive-In, yet felt the subject deserved more attention--hence De-Loused in the Comatorium, a collection of songs written by Jeremy Ward and Bixler. ...
