How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World Patrick J. Buchanan Crown Publishers, 2008 With this analysis of what he correctly sees as the Pyrrhic victories won by Britain and its allies in World Wars I and II, Patrick Buchanan has added once again to his many writings that have challenged the unquestioned, though superficial, truisms that make up the conventional wisdom in the United States. DID Robert Gibbs let the cat out of the bag?
Last week, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the world that Iran, unable to get fuel rods from the West for its U.S.-built reactor, which makes medical isotopes, had begun to enrich its own uranium to 20 percent.

Is America in its twilight years? Patrick J. Buchanan argues it is. Americans, especially conservatives, should heed his warnings. The very future of our republic is at stake. Mr. Buchanan has written the political book of the year - and maybe of our time.
In "Suicide of a Superpower" (Thomas Dunne Books, 2011), the nationally syndicated columnist and TV commentator delivers a damning indictment of the past two decades. His thesis: America is in decline. Unless it is reversed, the United States - like great republics before it - will be swept into the dustbin of history.

It's about time the alarm was sounded on China and especially by Patrick J. Buchanan ("Buchanan: Take the China Test," Commentary, Monday).
The economic contrast between China and the United States could not more stark. The differences are about production: As China continues to cultivate its resources, we continue to squander the land of milk and honey on a national credit card. It's insanity on our part.

No one ever accused Patrick J. Buchanan of lacking conviction or of consulting a focus group before saying what he thinks.
In his new book, "Day of Reckoning," the former presidential candidate, columnist and TV pundit confronts readers with many irrefutable facts that if left unaddressed, he believes, will lead to America's destruction.
