I don't like the phrase, "It's the economy, stupid," for several reasons. It's needlessly insulting (and delivered by wonks!) and it avoids the larger issue that we should be making someone pay for the Iraq debacle. It's the war, my distracted friend. INDIANAPOLIS - A state senator with his sights on a move to the majority party in the House is set to face a first-time candidate who hopes to be a part of a new majority in the race for the Indiana House District 76 seat.
Sen. Bob Deig, D-Mount Vernon, and Republican rival Wendy McNamara are battling for a seat representing all of Posey and parts of Vanderburgh and Gibson counties. It is now held by state Rep. Trent Van Haaften, the Mount Vernon Democrat who is running for Congress.

For the first part of their baby-naming party Saturday morning at Shelby Farms, the herd of buffalo grazed, stood or lay around ignoring the humans straining at the fence line to get their attention.
Then rangers drove into the pasture with buffalo chow. The herd sprang to life, dust flying as they stampeded across the pasture like they were starving. They eat 400 to 500 pounds of chow a day, said park ranger and buffalo keeper Benn Holden.
