In today's article ("Step right up," April 20, Page D1) concerning the visit of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, it was stated that the Greatest Show on Earth had never been to Bloomington-Normal. Unless O'Neil Park was located outside of the city limits in 1947 this statement is incorrect.
According to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Combined Shows Official Route Books on file at the circus collection in Milner Library, RBBB showed in Bloomington as late as Aug. 19, 1947.

WEST MILFORD - Cruising around the northern tip of the township, surprised drivers can't miss an open-air, 40-foot-high log doorway on Airport Road.
