Tami Ryan has fulfilled her announcement to run for a four-year term on the Dubuque Community School Board. She filed papers Thursday.
Ryan has been a substitute teacher for 10 years in the Dubuque system and is an adjunct instructor for the University of Dubuque supervising student-teachers. Ryan also has been a volunteer mom in classrooms, working with parent-teacher associations and organizations, school site councils, the Washington Middle School PBS team and the Rams Booster Club.

PETERSBURG - Stressing the "crucial role" they have as a voice speaking to leadership, Dr. Alvera J. Parrish, superintendent of Petersburg City Public Schools, called together on March 15 for the first time the presidents of the Petersburg Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs).
The Superintendent's PTA Leadership Forum fits into the goal of engaging all the stakeholders of the Petersburg community, she said. Earlier in the month, faith leaders came together for Dr. Parrish's Operation Shoulder to Shoulder, which paired them with the schools of the district.
