NEW BRUNSWICK - As one of the Garden State's small but growing number of organic farmers, Thomas Zeng takes pride in harvesting 150 acres of naturally produced grain each year. Forgoing pesticide use on that portion of his 1,000-acre property in Hunterdon County means fewer health risks for Zeng and his family and a better environment for all living things on their land. Of course, the beneficiaries include weeds and parasites, which now must be dispatched by hand, Zeng told a crowd of his peers here Saturday.
