RICHMOND -- Two officers from the French Defense Ministry's Joint Petroleum Service visited Defense Supply Center Richmond today as part of a two-week visit to the United States to study how the U.S. conducts its military fuel supply operations, which support ongoing operations overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq. Lt. Col. Jean-Nicolas Noviant, operations officer, and Capt. Samuel Borey, military aviation technical support officer, spent the morning at the center, which manages the aviation supply chain as part of the Defense Logistics Agency. The officers toured the installation and met with representatives of DSCR's Aviation Customer Operations directorate to discuss supply procedures, financial organization, quality assurance and operations planning.
