Three new police officers were added to the St. Albans Police Department during the May 21 City Council meeting. William Ty Barker, James Mathew Martin and Jeffery Brandon Perry were sworn into office with their family and friends in attendance. Barker came to the position with a background in law enforcement. He has served as a police officer with the communities of Ansted and Gauley Bridge. Barker was a member of the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force assigned to working drug and violent crime investigations.
