As of today, the University of Memphis' 2012 recruiting class consists of just one commitment in Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy wing and four-star recruit Damien Wilson.
But with the contact period set to begin Friday, Memphis is in the mix with six of the nation's top 30 high school prospects and a highly sought junior college prospect in Musa Abdul-Aleem, who wrapped up an official visit to the UofM this weekend.

Taylor Cowan had never been to the East Coast before taking an official college visit to Boston University. She must have liked what she saw, because the Hickman senior plans to spend at least the next four years there.
Earlier this week, Cowan gave a verbal commitment to accept a softball scholarship from the Division I program located in the heart of Massachusetts' capital. The Kewpies' pitching ace can make her decision official when the NCAA signing period begins Nov. 12.

Jesse Milleson (6-4, 250) a tight end from Glendale (Ariz.) Community College, took an official visit to the U of M last week and also visited Northern Illinois, but chose Memphis over offers from Akron, Northern Colorado and Northern Illinois.

Miguel Paul, who announced earlier this week that he is transferring from Missouri, is making an official visit to Canisius College this weekend according to a source.
Missouri announced last Monday that Paul, a sophomore, and freshman forward Tyler Stone had decided to leave the program. Paul averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 assists in 69 games for the Tigers.

National signing day arrives next Wednesday, and it's still a mystery where three of the Southland's top football recruits - tight end Christian Thomas of Highland of Palmdale, multipurpose backs Dietrich Riley of St. Francis of La Canada Flintridge and Lucky Radley of Taft of Woodland Hills - will be going to college.
Thomas said Tuesday he will know more after taking an official visit to USC this weekend.

The UB football program received verbal commitment No. 15 today with Wyatt Cahill, a 6-foot-5, 280 defensive tackle from Scottsdale Community College in Arizona. Cahill, who made an official visit to the campus this weekend, will enroll at UB next semester and participate in spring drills.

Bryant Barr, Falmouth High's all-state basketball player, has decided to accept a scholarship to attend Division I Davidson College in Davidson, N.C.
Barr made his official visit to the small, liberal arts school over the Labor Day weekend and committed verbally this week. Barr was also considering the University of Maine, Yale, Brown and Cornell. Barr said he will sign a national letter of intent in November.
