  • MORGANTOWN - A recent WVU study suggests that parents who don't have a family history of high cholesterol may want to have their children screened anyway. National guidelines recommend cholesterol screenings for children with a family history of heart disease or high cholesterol. But a retrospective study conducted by WVU researchers found that 98 children, or 36 percent, of 268 screened with elevated cholesterol levels had no family history of either condition.

If approved, A10372a/S7000b would amount to legislated discrimination.
