In an effort to clarify how federal laws prohibit discrimination against workers with parental responsibilities, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has issued guidelines that offer examples of conduct that amounts to disparate treatment under federal civil rights law. The agency says it is seeking to help stamp out the "emerging discrimination issue of the 21st century workplace.
