UTICA, N.Y. - A Hopewell man pleaded guilty yesterday to three felonies in the Easter crash that killed a man in Utica, N.Y., according to news reports.
The Utica Observer-Dispatch reported that William Daniels, 46, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated. He will be sentenced Sept. 21.

McLEAN, Va. - Gannett Co., the nation's largest newspaper publisher, is selling four of its 90 U.S.-based dailies to New York- based GateHouse Media Inc. for $410 million, including 30,000- circulation The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington.
The other three papers are the Rockford Register Star, a 65,000- circulation daily in Illinois; the Observer-Dispatch in Utica, N.Y, a 43,000-circulation daily; and the Norwich Bulletin, a 26,000- circulation daily in Connecticut.

BANGOR - Negotiators for the city and for Bangor firefighters are expected to meet with a mediator today to help resolve stalled contract talks that have left firefighters working without a new contract for more than a year.
The Bangor firefighters, represented by the International Association of Firefighters, Local 772, are the last unresolved contract of the city's three bargaining units, with contracts that expired June 30, 2005. Two units representing ramp, weather observer and dispatch employees at Bangor International Airport settled late last year, a city official said Wednesday.
