In his May 1 Another Voice "Literalness is costing churches their membership," the retired Rev. David Persons asserts that the Bible has "no historical proof" and cites the same as being a principal factor in the decline in church attendance and membership among Protestants and Catholics. Dan Brown's book was full of fiction about the life of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. There is no scriptural truth or evidence that Jesus was married to her and had offspring with her. There is no truth to his book about the hiding of facts by the Vatican to conceal such an elaborate set of circumstances, and Vatican officials have stated that clearly before the release of the movie in theaters worldwide.
