As far as we can recall, 2004 marked the first time that a legend died in the middle of the making of a movie about his life. At least the legend, Ray Charles, lived a full life, never mind that the 73 years allotted him seemed a bit stingy for a talent so large. At least the movie, "Ray," did that life proud, never mind that it did stop short of telling the whole story, start to finish.
