CALAIS - Molly White scored three goals to lead the Woodland Dragons to a 3-1 schoolgirl soccer victory over the Calais Blue Devils Wednesday.
Two of White's goals were unassisted and the other was assisted by Anne Rafsdal for the 9-4 Dragons. Kelsey Wordan saved nine of 15 shots in net.

The Hamden boys' basketball team is at it again. Last season, it started out losing seven of its first nine games, then rallied to win 10 of 11 to end the regular season. The Green Dragons then advanced to the second round of the Class LL state tournament.
This season, the Green Dragons lost six of their first seven games, then won six straight before a 59-57 loss in double-overtime at Xavier Monday night.

Becky Champagne scored 17 of her 21 points in the second period Saturday and Brunswick went on to a 48-41 victory against Messalonskee in an Eastern Class A girls' basketball game.
Lydia Caputi finished with 10 points and Hilary Champagne had nine for the Dragons (4-2), who outscored the Eagles 17-10 in the fourth quarter to break a 31-31 tie.

DANFORTH - Jordan Perkins recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Woodland Dragons to a 4-1 schoolboy soccer victory over the East Grand Vikings Thursday.
Gerald Cox, Ivan Subisdea and Jake Hoops added goals and Zach Cox and Kyle Pike assists for the 2-6 Dragons. Ryan Lincoln saved seven of nine shots.

Appomattox Regional freshman Perry Lowder reached the semifinals of the Tri-Rivers District boys tennis tournament before bowing out with a loss to Franklin's Lamar Carter.
The Dragons led the team competition with nine points heading into Friday's doubles tournament. Windsor was second with seven points, Franklin was third with six and Surry had zero.

LANSING, Mich -- The Dayton Dragons put up enough offense in the first inning to win against the Lansing Lugnuts on Saturday, Aug. 8. But the Dragons didn't stop there, routing the Lugnuts 18-5 in Midwest League baseball action. Kevyn Feiner led the way going 5- for-6 at the plate with a team-record four doubles along with six runs batted in. The Dragons broke the club record for doubles in a game with nine. Dragons third baseman Carlos Mendez set a club record when his infield single in the sixth extended his hitting streak to 20 games. Cody Puckett had four hits, including two doubles, and Josh Fellhauer, Alexis Oliveras and Miguel Rojas each had three hits. The 21 hits were one short of the team record, set in 2002. John Luke Tyner, Collierville golf: In last Thursday's match at Galloway, Tyner, a senior, shot a 30 for nine holes in helping the Dragons defeat Germantown. Tyner's play has helped Collierville to a 54-4-1 record.
