Let's call it the season of no-shows and nicknames. Campaign qualifying took place this week in Louisiana, apparently without a lot of fanfare or candidates. Beginning Tuesday and continuing through Thursday, anyone wanting to run for state offices filed their intentions with the secretary of state.

As I was reading over the Associated Press national news wire while waiting for inspiration to strike and set these scribblings in motion, I came across a story about a plea agreement being negotiated in the case of "Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris-Moore.
