FLORHAM PARK - The oft-opinionated Rex Ryan disagrees with Nick Folk. Big-time.
But, no, this conflict of opinions between the Jets' head coach and his kicker won't fuel headlines or fill back pages or melt down Twitter.

When the Jets signed Nick Novak in February, incumbent Nick Folk's feelings weren't, well, nicked.
Such is the reality of life as a placekicker in the NFL.

With less than five minutes to play, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez hit Santonio Holmes with a 30-yard scoring pass to put New York on top for good. But that is not the key play. Two plays before that, on third-and-6 with the Jets out of field-goal range, cornerback Kevin Barnes had Sanchez in his sights. But he hesitated just long enough on a pump fake and Sanchez found Shonn Greene for 10 yards and a first down. Who knows how things would have turned out if Barnes had made the sack?
Hold the phone on that shootout thing. The Jets and Redskins used the second quarter to be the Jets and Redskins again. From the Redskins' end of it, halftime would be one of those point-of-view things. The postive view? Well, the Redskins had a 13-10 lead at the break, thanks to a pair of Graham Gano field...

Nick Folk kicked a 50-yard field goal with 27 seconds left, giving the New York Jets a 27-24 comeback victory over the visiting Dallas Cowboys in the final game of the NFL's first full Sunday with the commemoration of the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks as an emotional backdrop.
With the game tied at 24, the Cowboys had a chance for a winning drive with 59 seconds left, but Tony Romo was intercepted on the first play by Darrelle Revis, who returned it 20 yards to Dallas'34. Four plays later, Folk kicked the go-ahead field goal against his old team.

INDIANAPOLIS - You would think Mark Sanchez would be used to this by now.
But standing in a postgame interview room not an hour after he'd engineered yet another late-game, game-winning drive, the Jets' quarterback still looked shocked. After setting up Nick Folk for a clock-beating kick to beat the Colts, 17-16, in the AFC wild card game, he surely is not alone in his amazement. With a wild, memorable 53-second drive, Sanchez proved himself a most playoff- worthy quarterback.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Nick Folk nearly booted himself back to the unemployment line with each unpredictable kick.
Given a chance to revive his once-promising career, Folk was wild when he first came to the New York Jets a few months ago. It got so bad, he nearly hit the scoreboard several yards wide of the goal posts on one attempt in practice.

[Brett Favre]'s nonchalant approach - he was even cracking jokes in his 14-minute media session - is disrespectful to his fans and the league that helped make him rich and famous. Because of his stature as the game's most celebrated quarterback, Favre represents a far bigger part of Commissioner Roger Goodell'sNFL "shield" than the average player.
Favre's best first-half play was drawing a face-mask penalty on New York's Calvin Pace while being sacked. That was one of only three Vikings first downs as New York took a 9-0 halftime lead. Favre's three completions on seven attempts equaled the number of times he fumbled (once) and was sacked (twice).
The fumble was the 162nd of Favre's career, breaking Warren Moon's NFL mark, and helped set up the Jets for a fourth Nick Folk field goal. Bu...

This time, Santonio Holmes wasn't caught from behind. Holmes' 37- yard catch-and-run with 16 seconds to go in overtime lifted the Jets to a 26-20 victory over Cleveland, one week after Holmes was caught from behind on a 52-yard reception that set up Nick Folk's winning 30-yard field goal at Detroit.
