Michael Cera is all grown up.
You may not be convinced by his newest film, "Youth in Revolt," in which the star of "Superbad," "Juno" and "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" is yet another lovelorn teenager.

Thirty years ago today, the body of Chris Bell was laid to rest. But his music, his spirit, have yet to be buried.
It's been a banner year for the work of the late singer- songwriter and founder of Memphis' legendary cult band Big Star. This fall, "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" - a Columbia Pictures film that grossed some $30 million at the box office - blasted Bell's "Speed of Sound" over the opening credits. Millions of TV watchers heard Bell's songs on the syndicated program "That '70s Show," and critics raved over a CD compilation called Thank You Friends: The Ardent Records Story, which featured several of Bell's previously unheard recordings.

After the show, [Nick] and [Norah], under the watchful jealous eye of Nick's bitchy ex-girlfriend Tris (Alexis Dziena), take off into the night in search of their mutual favorite band. The evening is a where's where of Manhattan hotspots. The burgeoning lovebirds have Tris on their tail and eventually get detailed to find the lost and intoxicated Caroline. While it's fun to take the ride through the Big Apple with Nick and Norah in a crappy yellow car, it's more fun to watch these two fall in love. It's the first romantic comedy in a long time in which the characters feel genuine.

I'm hesitant to say any more about the specifics of District 9 - the script was cowritten by [Neil Blomkamp] with Terri Tatchell because so many of this remarkable film's terrible wonders are best experienced as they unfold in front of you. Suffice it to say that Blomkamp and his entire cast and crew have created an instant genre classic that transcends the self-limiting ghetto implied by the term "science fiction" and instead, like precursors such as Robert Wise's The Day the Earth Stood Still, engages not only the mind but the heart as well. It's magnificent.
Bandslam plays like a spiritual companion to last year's Nick and Norah 's Infinite Playlist - goofier, flabbier and less artful, but possessing the same joie de vivre of youth reveling in rock. [Vanessa Hudgens] and [Alyson Mich...

[Nick] and [Norah] is a wonderfully sweet love story that will give both hipsters and non-hipsters the warm fuzzies.
