  • STRATFORD -- Police are warning the public not to lose their money to an official-looking scam from Spain. Several local people have received communications from the "El Gordo Sweepstake Lottery Program," informing them that they've won hundreds of thousands of dollars in a Spanish lottery. In order to claim their prize, recipients are told to send the company detailed information about themselves, including their profession, marital status, gender, next of kin and bank account number.
