New York Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan would probably tell Thomas DiBartolomeo to just suck it up. But DiBartolomeo is going to sue instead.
October 1, 2006, was a black day for Jets fans. Peyton Manning engineered a last-minute drive in Meadowlands Stadium to put the Indianapolis Colts ahead 31-28.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Rex Ryan's mouth really cost him this time.
The brash New York Jets coach will not appeal a $75,000 fine issued by the NFL on Monday for using profanity while angrily responding to a fan at halftime of New York's 37-16 loss to New England last Sunday. Ryan received an official notice from Commissioner Roger Goodell in the morning.

When the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl, fans chanted "Who dat?" as a symbol of their rise from obscurity to victory. Meanwhile, some lesser-known Jets are making a name for themselves in New York stores due to the team's own rise to the AFC championship.
Although some teams are dominated by superstars, retailers said they're seeing strong demand for a number of Jets jerseys. But while Jets fans rally around the team, hoping for a win in the field, who are the most popular Gang Green players in the stores?

Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Gang Green tonight in Uniondale will be sorely out of luck.
Despite being scheduled for a now-annual practice night at Hofstra University, the New York Jets have had to pull out due to the threat of inclement weather. NEW YORK JETS Offensive coordinator Paul Hackett is on the hot seat-deservedly so. In 48 games with Hackett as the coordinator, the Jets have scored 30 points only nine times. Last season, he had a legitimate excuse, losing QB Chad Pennington for the first six games. Things should improve this year. Hackett has to integrate only one new starter, WR Justin McCareins, so the old "we need time to jell" alibi won't cut it. ... Oft-suspended DT Josh Evans is primed for a big camp.

NEW YORK JETS The Jets expect big things from DT Dewayne Robertson, who had a disappointing rookie season. Robertson primarily will be the 3 technique tackle-the tackle who lines up between the guard and offensive tackle-but new coordinator Donnie Henderson plans to move him around to create mismatches. He also could line up over center, guard or tackle. He has impact-player tools but must learn the game and mature . ... Henderson plans to use a variety of fronts to force mismatches.

Green Bay - Running back Curtis Martin, the New York Jets' best player, hasn't played a down all season.
The Jets have been outscored and out-gained by substantial amounts. They cannot stop the run, and the only team they've been able to run it against was hapless Detroit.

NEW YORK JETS When it was suggested the offense might have to carry the team while the defense, which has four new starters and a new system, gets comfortable, offensive coordinator Paul Hackett said not so fast. He pointed out that the offense has to break in new WR Justin McCareins. True, but eight starters have three years of experience in Hackett's system, and two others have one year. If Hackett is worried about breaking in one starter, his scheme needs to be simplified. ...

NEW YORK -- Josh Turnoff was walking around Union Square when his friend, an out-of-towner, spotted the Empire State Building -- it's pretty hard to miss -- and noticed something different.
He said, 'That's odd. It's not St. Patrick's Day. I wonder why it's green and white,'" Turnoff said, relaying the story with a certain glee. "I said, 'It's probably for the Jets tomorrow.'
