The referral centers are located in every borough. The centers are staffed with guidance counselors, social workers and academic intervention services. The centers also provide non-academic support services to students who have experienced attendance problems, had interruptions in their high school studies, need drug treatment services, have become pregnant or a parent, or are ex-offenders. If a student has just entered the country, they too can utilize the centers' resources.
